Bowfishing Expeditions & Educational Tours

Bowfishing ExpeditionsWe are committed to preserving the Great Lakes Basin by promoting the control of the common carp in the safest and most environmentally sound way - through the sport of bowfishing.

From May 1 - August 15, Lake Conservation patrols our inland lakes to harvest the nonindigenous and invasive common carp that threatens Michigan's most valuable resource - our waters.

The common carp is listed in the State of Michigan's Aquatic Nuisance Species Handbook as competing with, and contributing to a reduced number of Michigan's native species.

Carp are known to cause serious damage to duck and fish populations as they uproot and destroy vegetation in shallow waters required by native species for food and cover.

Lake Association Members: Please contact Mark if you would like to arrange a tour to view the carp population on your lake, or book us for your next association meeting to educate your members on the importance of carp control.

Sport Fishermen: If you would like to join us for a night of adventure, call Mark for bookings and more info.
