Petition To Stop Asian Carp
Michigan's Attorney General is asking residents to sign an online petition to stop the spread of an invasive species.
Attorney General Mike Cox has filed suit in U.S. Supreme Court to close a canal, which is a gateway for two invasive species of Asian carp to reach the Great Lakes.
The Asian carp is an invasive species and Cox says if allowed into the Great Lakes, would threaten our state's tourism and fishing interests. He is encouraging residents to log online and sign a petition to request that the U.S. Army Corps close the locks connecting Illinois' carp infested waterways with the Great Lakes.
